Tips To Preventing Spam Emails

Spam emails are everywhere. No matter how hard you try and keep your personal information private, it seems as if somehow those spammers get your email address. Once they have that email address it is only a matter of time before you are bombarded with emails for new vitamins, leasing opportunities forĀ new jersey luxury apartments, dating sites, and a whole bunch of other products and services that you don’t need or want.

Although it is hard to prevent spam emails from coming to your email box completely, there are a few steps that you can take to prevent those spam emails from happening.

1. Don’t Fill Out Entry Forms. There are hundreds of contests and entry forms all over the Internet. For every one company like this that doesn’t sell your information there are 10 companies that will sell your private information, which will lead to spam emails. The best way to avoid these types of spam emails from happening is to just not fill out those entry forms. If you do, don’t put an email address down; that way it’s impossible for spam emails to happen.

2. Use a Junk Email Address. Many people have a private email and an email address that is used for a more public reason. That allows people to fill in contest forms and any other times an email address is asked for. This public email address prevents any spam from occurring in the private email address and taking up any type of space.

3. Opt Out When Filling in Forms. Sometimes filling in forms for companies there is a question at the bottom of the page asking if you’d like to receive information. Simply uncheck the box and you will not receive emails from that company. Sometimes companies like this will send an email everyday which can be considered spam. Just opt out and you’ll avoid this.
